The curriculum offered at Catherine Beecher Elementary will
follow a core curriculum standard. The number of basic courses will be increased. All teachers will be required to teach students
the basic subjects of Math, Reading, Science, History, Literature, and all Fifth graders will be required to take
a Foreign Language class to encourage bilingual learning. We will decrease the number of electives
but still offer Art, Music, Physical Education, and Media. Children will rotate between electives throughout the week
as to ensure equal and adequate time for all electives. Each student will also be required to participate in Physical Education
every year unless a doctors note is provided.
Catherine Beecher Elementary will also offer gifted programs to students in Second through
Fifth grades.
